Exploring Plaza Botero Medellin Historia

When in the Eternal City (aka. Medellin, Colombia), there are ALOT of things your recommended to do as a tourist. You'll hear alot of suggestions to take the Metrocable, as well as check out Parque Lleras in Poblado, Medellin.

From my personal experience I have done both those things, and although they were fantastic, if your only in Medellin for a day or two I recommend adding Plaza Botero to the list.

I personally really enjoyed visiting Plaza Botero and the Museum of Antioquia (which holds many works of art by Medellin's most famous artist Fernando Botero, known for both sculptures and paintings).  Throughout the plaza are many sculptures that were placed so that the public could enjoy art without having to pay entry to the Museum of Antioquia.

Finally found Eco Luggage, and what a search it was...

Traveling is one of my favorite things in the world, I believe it is honestly the most important thing that money can buy. There is nothing in my mind comparable to the luxury and opportunity to travel to another country and experience another culture.

Here is one of my favorite quotes regarding travel from Saint Augustine:

However the one thing that really effects me mentally when traveling is the carbon footprint that I leave behind from the airplanes jet engine fuel to the luggage I pack my clothing and shoes into. To simply put, an individuals carbon footprint when traveling is massive and the more I think about it, the more I want to do my part to lessen the impact of my travel.

My search for eco luggage...

When I first started to research the options of ethical luggage, I was astounded by the limited options out there at the moment (hint: if you have been thinking about starting an eco luggage company DO IT, the world needs YOU). During my research to find green luggage, I was saddened by the many larger companies who had previously made eco luggage and had stopped to focus on other products, as well as the links to the endless companies that had went bankrupt.

If you are looking for a hard plastic suitcase, I can tell you that after about 14 hours of research I discovered that only one company still produces sustainable hardside luggage.

'Heys' a Canadian luggage brand has created 'Eco Orbis,' they offer 3 sizes of spinner luggage that is all made from recycled plastic.

My hope is that awareness of your carbon footprint when traveling, does not deter you from traveling. I instead hope that you join me on the journey towards finding every way possible to make your travel 'Green.' I believe that in the world we live in, the only thing that truly will help to bring awareness towards our understanding of other religions, cultures, and people is to TRAVEL and experience it yourself.

Another favorite travel quotes of mine is from Aldous Huxley, the words below have left so much inspiration in my thoughts:
